BAO’s Statement Bold, Not Fearful ~ Ayeni

A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Mr. Yemi Ayodele Ayeni, has described Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s recent remarks as a bold and honest expression rather than a reflection of fear, as some commentators have insinuated.

Ayeni, in a statement released on Sunday, said it was wrong for anyone to interpret the Governor’s straightforward position as a sign of panic over future elections, stressing that Oyebanji has only spoken the truth without the usual political embellishments.

“Fear of what? Fear of election? Governor Oyebanji is not expecting a ‘walkover’ where nobody will contest against him. Not even a novice in politics will think that way. The Governor has simply called a spade a spade,” Ayeni stated.

Drawing a biblical analogy, Ayeni likened the Governor’s statement to that of Jesus Christ, who openly called out Judas among His disciples in John 13:18. According to him, Oyebanji’s words should be seen as an expression of disappointment over betrayal by a few individuals, not as weakness.

“The statement by Mr. Governor is a reflection of disappointment in Judas among his people and not an expression of fear. Many may not realise that if ten Judases are out, hundreds of disciples are in for BAO,” he added.

Ayeni further declared his total loyalty to the Governor, describing himself as “100% BAOtic.”
